Bruce Springsteen helped his mom, Adele, celebrate an early 93rd birthday on Sunday when he accompanied her to The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, New Jersey to catch a performance by local group The Eddie Testa Band. According to The Asbury Park Press, the Boss and his mom danced to two songs during the show.
A photo of Bruce and his mother dancing at The Wonder Bar has been posted by a Facebook user who was at the event.
The newspaper also reports that Springsteen’s son, Sam, and his longtime guitar tech, Kevin Buell, also were in attendance, and a big bag of gifts for Adele was spotted. Springsteen’s mom officially will turn 93 on May 4.
While the Springsteen family celebrated at the club the power went out, but they reportedly kept hanging out for an hour. During the power outage, JT Bowen, former lead singer of the late Clarence Clemons‘ side band Red Bank Rockers, got the crowd singing along to the classic oldies “Stand by Me,” “Under the Boardwalk” and “My Girl.”
It’s not known if Bruce and his mom were dancing in the dark during that performance.
